[...] Anyhow. Hmmmm….Communicatrix had this really good post on her archives about the fabled List women make describing their perfect man and how it’s okay to ask for perfection- expect it, really, and it got me thinking. The sad thing is, the List really is a universal concept- I know I’ve had them in the past and lost them, kept a running mental one that I obviously forget sometimes, but as far as a real list I believe that the most recent incarnation of it for yours truly was around here or thereabouts. But I haven’t dealt with The List in awhile. I have fallen off the There’s-A-Perfect-Guy-Out-There bandwagon. That post, howevah, makes me wanna hop back on. So I might bust out a reincarnation of said list. [...]

Would love to know.

Dear C-trix,

You seem to be a person who's found a great deal of inspiration from list-making and organizational tools. Since I look up to in these matters, I've tried to sit down and make lists of my own: things I want to do with my life, places I want to go, people I want to meet. But after writing down the numbers on the left hand side of the page, I get a severe case of jitters as I think about what I truly want, and I always end up ripping the list up. What is wrong with me?

Me? I've been spoken for for 31 years and lovin' it (and him)!
But I also LOVE this sage advice.
My business is focused on sharing resources for couples and I always feel inadequate to the task of helping singles who want to be couples!
This is a perfect, experience-rich, hard-won starting place.
I'm about to forward it to a 30-something I know, who has reached the stage where she'll "get" it!
Well done!
Thanks so much

This list philosophy makes a great deal of sense. So nice to get a dose of self-help distilled to a single page or so. I can see right off that step 2 will kick my ass, but I do like the list approach for it, makes the person I'd like to be a more quantifiable entity.

No doubt this will fall the way of lapsed workout routines and intentions to learn piano and practice guitar, but if I can keep it in mind, maybe I'll get somewhere. So thanks.
