Books: The Anti-antidepressant
The stack of books I was just over halfway through reading when I realized there might be something wrong with me:
- Fat Girl, by Judith Moore
- Night, by Elie Wiesel
- Bait & Switch, by Barbara Ehrenreich
- The Year of Magical Thinking, by Joan Didion

Oy, “Night.” There’s a book to kill yourself with. At least it has some inspirational qualities, as in, it allows you to think “at least my life is better than being in a Nazi concentration camp.”
Maybe you can pick up some Raymond Carver short stories to complete the downward spiral. Everybody says he’s a genius but I found him a complete downer.

You want downers, in an up kind of way? Richard Ford, he’s the man.
