If you can’t develop yourself via at least one of these sites, there’s no hope for you

Thank you, Priscilla, for starting it. Thank you, Adam, for adding me.

This is already such a comprehensive list, it’s tough coming up with more names. But I’ll throw in…

…and after the kisses, the list!

I tried reading Dave Pollards site, but he’s just giving me *serious* depressions. (No, honestly. He comes up with my therapist, it’s not just a phrase)

So, if you’re prone to seeing a bleak future, stay away from Dave’s site …

Ben Yoskovitz September 7, 2007 at 6:40 pm

That is quite the list! Thank you for adding me to it…

Jeanie Marshall September 7, 2007 at 7:14 pm

It’s great to be on this list and to connect with you through it. You have a wonderful blog. I’ll check in again.

Make it an Empowering Day!

communicatrix September 7, 2007 at 7:50 pm

RGB – (Hey–I just got that those are your initials! How cool is yer monogram!?!) I know—Dave has admitted to being a bit of a depressive, and a little gloomy on the future (okay–a realist), but there are so many good posts. Maybe a thoughtful and selective search through tags to begin with?

Ben – Oh, you are more than welcome! So many hours of pleasure I”ve had at your blog.

Jeanie – It *is* a good list, isn’t it? I don’t know that I’ll ever get through the whole thing, but it’s kinda worth trying, from the ones I do know.

Mel September 7, 2007 at 8:00 pm

I like your “no hope” addition. Priscilla really started something!

Robyn September 8, 2007 at 3:30 am

Hi Colleen, great to know about your focus. Thanks for publishing and extending Priscilla Palmer’s Personal Development list.

Patrick September 8, 2007 at 4:57 am

Thanks for the list. I will have to go check some out and add them to my newsreader. I need quite a few of these as resources in one category in my reader I was a little weak in and for a blog I do that is focused on many of these issues.

communicatrix September 8, 2007 at 8:33 am

Do you mean Dave Pollard? I wouldn’t call him “no hope”, although he can run to the gloomy. In a recent exchange, he told me his concession to the realization that people bum out when they read the truth is to provide actionable things with all his news. And his posts on GTD, mind mapping, etc. are excellent and 100% non-gloomy (well, except when I’m feeling particularly disorganized).

I have a focus?!? Yippeeeeee!!!!!

You see, I’ve been rather doubting I had any kind of focus. Or waiting for my focus to find me. I think that’s one of the reasons I was so thrilled to see Adam Kayce had added me: I’m a self-development blog!

You’re welcome! I’ve saved the email copy of this post in my own mail client and intend to go back every few days and try out some more. Priscilla has provided an amazing service!

Priscilla Palmer September 8, 2007 at 10:10 am

Thank you for posting the list. I really appreciate it.

Bob September 8, 2007 at 11:13 am

Thank you for re-posting the list. I am happy to be in such great company!

Lucid September 8, 2007 at 5:02 pm

I appreciate being on this list. It is so huge, which means is it getting around.

Thanks for the mention and have a good weekend!

suzymiller September 8, 2007 at 4:21 pm

Came here via Chris Brogan. What an awesome list – how long did it take you to compile?
I have such a hectic life with three kids and a new business – I love people like you who collate useful stuff and send it out.

Thank you!

communicatrix September 8, 2007 at 9:01 pm

Priscilla – Of course! Thank *you* for starting it.

Bob – You’re welcome. And I know the feeling :-)

suzymiller – oh, lordy, I didn’t compile it—Priscilla did. But I did take a few minutes to add some people. That counts…kinda…doesn’t it?

Lucid – You’re welcome! It is cool, meeting all these new people with common interests.

Jenny September 9, 2007 at 8:26 am

Thanks for including our blog in the list!

Robert Groby Blum September 9, 2007 at 5:31 pm

You know what – I never realized my initials are RGB. That *is* incredibly cool – now I just need to come up with a logo 😉

(Groby is a nick, so when I initial things I usually just use RB – too much hassle to explain otherwise….)

Lisa Gates September 9, 2007 at 10:40 pm

This list has, by far, been the best scavenger hunt on the net. I have found more blogs, yours included, to keep me curious for weeks.

By the growing size of the list, it looks as if we are ALL, even those not yet on the list, up to something…up to personal development. I’d love to see something unforseen and powerful develop from this list. In addition to the work we’re all doing, the inspiration we’re generating, I wonder what we could all create together?

communicatrix September 10, 2007 at 9:52 am

Jenny – You’re welcome! Looking forward to checking it out.

RGB – Nothing. Just wanted to write “RGB” right away.

Lisa – One of the things I love about the internet is finding my tribe a few keystrokes away, no matter where they are geographically. Here’s to co-creation!

Tiffany Monhollon September 14, 2007 at 1:56 pm

Thanks for the shout out! There are a lot of great blogs on this list, and I’m thrilled to be included!

Bob September 15, 2007 at 4:51 pm

Hello there! I am inviting members of Priscilla Palmer’s Personal Development List to participate in a blog series based on the Desiderata. I hope you’ll consider participating. Here is a link describing the project: Help Wanted: Desiderata Series. Thank you and have a great day.

Stephen Hopson September 29, 2007 at 3:46 am

The title of this blog post was really “eye-catching”! I thought it was funny, cute and appealing.

I know I contacted you earlier in the week but maybe it got lost in the shuffle.

Congrats on making the list. You have a beautiful, appealing blog and I have already visited a few times and I’ll definitely be back! I am making the rounds on this list and communicating with those who I feel connected to on some level.

Galba Bright September 29, 2007 at 5:51 am

Thanks for re-posting the list and belated happy birthday..I enjoyed your birthday insights.

communicatrix September 29, 2007 at 9:19 am

Tiffany – you’re welcome! And I concur!

Bob – I’m excited to be doing the Desiderata project. What a great poem. Thanks for letting me know about it.

Stephen – I missed it–sorry! I try to reply to everything, esp. when it’s nice :-)

Galba – You’re welcome, and thanks for the b-day wishes, etc. If they’re not for reflection, what is?

Stephen Hopson September 29, 2007 at 10:51 am

Hey, no problem. I also forgot to mention how cute the photo of the doll with colorful hair looked! It reminded me of a talk I gave at a recent speaking engagement about the value of being authentic.

Authencity is so important, isn’t it? If your hair is meant to be grey, well, why not? Isn’t that what nature intended? I could understand it if you or anyone else needed to dye it for acting or something but……why not celebrate our unique self? Good article.
