DQ - Haha! That’s a great poem (and I love kitties, too—want to get one as company for Arnie.) But credit where credit is due: the poem was/is the ex-husband’s. The BF is definitely more of a prose guy.

I love cats. Love them, but can appreciate the BF’s poetry. I too wrote kitten poems as a dark, slightly twisted 12 yr old:
Little kitten in the sun
Having lots and lots of fun
I see a bucket and some matches
Kerosene that really catches
There’s no more kitten in the sun
And I have had my daily fun

Serial killer in the making? No, bored kid with crazy cousins visiting. Really. Love cats. Have two.

Waldo - I didn’t *hate* dogs; I was leery/afraid of them. I’m sure it was a combo of some bad experiences with other people’s and no good ones of my own to mitigate. And no, dogs and apartments are rarely cool, unless they’re those little, barky dogs. In which case, they suck for the neighbors.

Fluffy - Thanks! It’s been fun, but rather draining. Kinda like the hypn07 series this summer, without the hypnosis part.

JFG - I’d totally forgotten that story. And it’s 100% true. Poor Sam. He didn’t need anyone to terrorize him; he could do that himself with his own excrement.

Another excellent post, which is easy for me to say since I’m an appreciator of cats moreso than dogs for all the reasons stated. One particular cat in my life swallowed a bobbin and had thread coming from its ass that ultimately required vet attention. Hysterical story that I’ll have to write on now that I’m thinking of it!

I’ll always remember the Atheist onstage disputing the alleged intelligence of cats. He described how Sam once went to the litter box and defecated somehow an extremely long hair, but not completely, then ran around the apt all day, terrorized that a piece of shit attached to the hair was chasing him. Good times.

This 21-day effort is an impressive commitment. And you’re almost there! Seems like there is some serious reflection going on.

As for cats, we have two. They are unique and fun to have around. Like you mentioned, pets can really make a difference to one’s outlook on life.

The pr0n naming is a hoot. I would be “Fluffy Vagabond”.
