"Forget that we were only allowed to use three squares of toilet paper per seated occasion (god knows I’d like to)"

so that probably explains this:

last night, you call me at the office and tell me to pick up toilet paper. no big deal, except it was two am. then, when I get home, there's a full roll in the bathroom. I'm thinkin' "geez, what's the obsession with toilet paper?!?"

next day I buy two 30 roll packs of charmin - the fluffy kind, not the cheap stuff!

as long as I'm around, you can use as many squares of toilet paper as you want!

Gift, burden, event -- let's see, we need 3 boxes
to put these in. What if we had more boxes? Then
we could change the labels: gift could also be
"stuff I did not buy"; burden could be lite, medium,
or back-breaking; event could be normal, extraordinary,
surprise, planned. Soon, we have unlimited boxes,
and run into management problems. We reframe
the context that holds all the boxes, and focus
on the context. "It" determines how we see what's
there. Context is king (or queen).

So ... what is the context? This will yield the
answer. Problem is, we go through life being-doing-
having an answer ... to the wrong question.

Bon - So many parallels. We're like sisters who grew up ten years and 1500 miles apart!

Happy-happy to you, too. And many returns.

Charles - Crazy, crazy world. But good-crazy, in lots of ways.

Thanks for the nice words, and ongoing support. Have yourself a lovely weekend!

Jon - Good point. Everything happening now, everything that has happened, is there to be a gift or a burden or just an event. Or all three. Kind of makes my head hurt, though, thinking about it.

> the inadvertent gift

Provocative concept. I would question the
unintended aspect, and look closer at the
consequence. Is "gift" the right word? Some
illumination, some say the brightest, is
thought-less, word-less.

Love the insight. Good people come from backgrounds in which we're exposed to a wide array of events and people - like your uncle. In my case, my high school band director.

Happy Thanksgiving C-Trix!

Awe. Some.

Seriously.

(And how have I forgotten--or never known--that you and I each lived with our mother's mothers and had dads whose pads sprung leaks of buxom women flitting about by the pools?)

Happy T'giving, CoCo. I'm grateful for YOU. XO
