Poetry Thursday: Simple, not easy

whitespace_adrienNier

To take away
subtract
remove
excavate

To open up
share
extend
love

To choose
with care

tend to
with patience

mind
with attention

To ask
each and every time
“Is this the truth?”

and to go back
and ask again
until it is

What will
you possess
apply to the enormous task
in front of you
every moment
of every day.

If you can do what is simple
the rest
is easy.

Oh Colleen, you really captured a truth this morning. Your poem was so “oh yeah” that I read it three times, slower through each repetition.

The line “If you can do what is simple the rest is easy” – a pretty grand meditation for the frantic.

Thanks for the inspiration!
