blogs the communicatrix recommends
One of your more fraught features on a blog has got to be The Dreaded List of Links.
What should be a harmless, helpful guide more often becomes a Gordian Knot of obligation and anxiety: Do you list everything you’ve ever read & liked? Only what you’re reading right now? Friends? People you want to be your friends?
Or—horror of horrors—are you just linking to stuff you think other people will find you cool for linking to?
Didn’t know the blogroll was so much like high school, did you?
Like it or not, though, we live in an age of little time and a great need for trusted filters. I spend more and more time using Twitter and Facebook and Tumblr to filter my own crazy stream of info. And good people find other good people via these damned lists of links. So. A list, for you: of what I read regularly, as of this writing, and what I’ve read before—or irregularly, as of this writing.
